Northern Italy Master Class

2024 Northern Italy (South Tyrol)

My dearest friends, Kathrin Koehler and Jogi Schmeisser of Immagis Galerie in Munich are organizing this workshop with my help. They have repped me very successfully for many years and are absolutely the very best people. All of the locations for this Master Class offer many great opportunities in the stunning Dolomites for outstanding photography. We will focus on many new locations this year. Accommodations will also be terrific.

Of course, all the “Gorman Master Class” features will be present: from top models for portraits and nudes to local folks for a great mix of talent in front of your lens to fine wine and exquisite meals offered from a region known for its culinary experiences. And this class wouldn’t be complete without my good friend and incredible co-instructor, Joshua Smith. The Master Class will comprise five full days of photography with daily critiques. As well, the latest lighting gear will be available to you. This promises not only to be a great Class but also to be a great getaway for dining and enjoying the unforgettable scenery only the Dolomites can offer.

Blenheim Park Maine Master Class

Last fall, I taught a Master Class which sold out in 36 hours in mid-coast Maine at Blenheim Park. This year, we’ve added an additional day to give us a full 5 days shooting experience. We will be adding several new locations to this year’s venue for all of you returning students. Our hosts, Justin Stailey and Kerry Payne, offer up their tremendous hospitality on this stunning property. The luxury of a sprawling 16-acre estate will afford us the opportunity of learning and sharing. Situated on a beautiful lake with neighboring meadows and woods, there will be an abundance of photographic opportunities, including different houses as well as a fully equipped photographic studio. California Sunbounce and Rotolight’s latest gear will be on hand for your use throughout the week as will be Fujifilm’s latest cameras and lenses (my camera of choice these days). Justin Stailey of Fujifilm will be on hand to help you with any questions. Wonderful food and wine and a few outside trips will round out the week. This Master Class proved to be a real home run last year, and this year should prove to be even better.

Mastering the Art of Travel - Tokyo

Mastering the Art of Travel Masterclass - Tokyo

Join one of the true masters of portraiture and lighting in an all-new workshop experience in Tokyo. Limited to 8 participants + 1 scholarship recipient, this lucky group will work with the photographer to the stars Greg Gorman in curated settings all over the iconic, picturesque and dramatic city that is Tokyo.

Greg’s lighting techniques, both natural and artificial, and his command of a room, his subjects and situations make him one of the most sought-after photographers to the stars. But in this special workshop we want to get you out of the studio and about in the amazing backdrops that Tokyo has to offer. For that reason, we will be in small
groups together in locations selected by Greg and our director George Nobechi. Working with models and citizens as well as artisans, we will work with reflectors and smaller, portable lights that you can take with you on your next trip so that you can add the art of the travel portrait to your photographic toolkit.

We will stay together in a beautiful art hotel conveniently located in the heart of Tokyo and have access to a wonderful co-working space for photo reviews. Moreover, this workshop partially crosses over on dates with Sam Abell’s street photography workshop, setting us up for our first ever “crossover” event between portraiture and documentary street photography. We will have several group dinners and interactions lined up, making this a truly once-in-a-lifetime, can’t-miss event in the company of two great masters and three very dear friends.

*Note this workshop is not a nudes workshop.
